Barcelona has become the 'best foreign city', replacing Paris at the top of the list after five years – at least according to readers of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph.
The market research company NOP World surveyed some 26,000 readers from the two newspapers, asking them to record their “holiday highs and lows” of the previous two years.
Whilst France was the most-visited country, with 56% of respondents having visited in the last two years, Italy won the title of 'favourite holiday destination' (for the fourth year in succession). Ibiza was the worst!
Among ski resorts, Canada’s Whistler was voted the best, while Meribel, France, was the 'most disappointing ski resort'.
Emirates was voted 'best airline' and Bmibaby was 'best low-cost airline'. Singapore’s Changi Airport was voted the world’s best for the fifth year in a row.
